TREASURER REPORT:
We have $1200 in the account.
Dustin has the budget set up for next year
Sara suggest pad the travel budget since we overspent last year.
We need a budget committee
Dustin, Jeff, and Matt have been selected.
Dustin will convene the budget committee meeting when the budget is
ready.
MEMBERSHIP:
We increased our numbers of senior membership due to Doug’s efforts.
Doug may want to try associate fellow nominations this next year
George Mulner is the new president of AIAA. Doug knows him.
RAC MEETING:
Held May 31st in LA
Branding.
We need to update our logo. (Sara updated all the section logos as an example)
They recommend that we add the mission and the vision to our webpage.
New awards and datamaker process is coming. It will be first described in the RLC.
We need to communicate often and with purpose.
We should purchase constant connect
portal to send out bulk emails. Phoenix has it.
Phoenix has it and has had good success with it
Bruce and Steve will be looking into it and seeing if we can get it at a discount from the Region.
Gives you a template to do a newsletter online.
Right now it’d cost us at about $200.00
No email should go out to the section unless two eyes have looked at it.
$4000 of CAT III money left for this year. Region is looking for requests.
Things that will provide a benefit for the AIAA and/or would leave something behind.
Orange County did a speed dating for young professionals.
no actual dating was involved. It was career related.
Phoenix will get a van and come down and do something with us.
We could rent some fancy teacher from Seattle.
We could send a teacher to an education event.
Board development and council – get people involved
14 from our Region went to CVD.

Highest age range of volunteers is 35-49
AIAA leadership manual has a description of responsibilities of officers.
$200 was given to student sections submitting end of the year reports and few people did.
High schoolers should get involved with the student section.
Next Rac meeting is Sept 20th in Seattle or Sept 13th in L.A.
YOUNG PROFESSIONALS:
We need a Y.P. chair – Kyle Andringa is interested!
Fermented Fluid Dynamics and something like that.
We need pics for soaring event.
Jeff wants to target Raytheon new hires.
KIDS CLUB:
Kids club was the most successful in terms of number of kids participating and diversity of the kids.
We used 3 of the 8 classes were taught by lunar lab fellows
We don’t know if we can get the room for next year. Sara doesn’t anticipate any trouble.
Challenger learning center is closing. This is going to hurt kids club and the community.
Sara is looking for teachers and classes.
Maybe we can work on robotics problem – Matt has some robotics contacts thru lady at Raytheon that works near him.
Brian going to Embry Riddle for the Great American Aero Derby. We should get involved
Did anyone get any pictures of kids club in January or Febrary.

STUDENT SECTION NEWS:
Seniors got Best Aerospace Design Award.
3 people are excited about DBF.
Made $300 at Spring Fling.
AERIAL ROBOTICS:
Competition about a month away
4 people are signed up – Frank doubts all of them will show up to go.
ECE is working on small hovering vehicle autopilot as senior project.
WEBSITE:
Nothing new.

We can focus on electronic copies.
