kids are signed up. There are also two high
school age helpers and two parents attending.

Saturday, Oct 10 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.in the Kuiper Space Sciences Building,
the topic will be DNA with presenter Vuna Fa, a Space Grant Graduate Fellow

Volunteers are
welcome and encouraged

December Kids

January and February
are set up, but there is a need for a person with AIAA affiliation to unlock
the building, 1-26 and 2-16. Amy
volunteers.
March Kids Club will
be held at PAS. Don Lacey will present,

award for new teacher of the year in AZ.
We could follow this up by honoring our awardee at next distinguished
lecturer event.

contest open to all kids- theme next 50 years of flight- deadline Dec 1. Last year we had 3 winners.
ENGINEERS WEEK (early February):

This event is an
opportunity to hand out AIAA literature and sponsor an interactive display.
Doug has ideas on specifics.

E-week has a history
of minimal student involvement. How can
we change this?

sponsor an AIAA table at Engineer Week banquet?

DISTINGUISHED LECTURE EVENT:
Two
requests:
1)
L Scott Miller has been contacted and is interested. The topic of his talk is shadow craft: the history and present state of secret
aircraft.
Could this be held in
front of SR71 at Spirit of Freedom hanger at PAS?
2)
Mark Adler of JPL has been contacted.
His topic is concerns Mars exploration
and the Spirit Rover. Currently, no
response to our request.
Other ideas:
