Aerial Photos of Campout

28 May 2006

For a bit of evening entertainment, the Pima College UAV Club provided a camera test airplane they've been using for the Aerial Robotics Competition. The remote-controlled airplane flew over the campsite at Parker Canyon Lake and transmitted video from one of its two airborne cameras. The video was recorded and displayed on a ground-based computer.

Our volunteer pilot was Patrick Craine of the Tucson Section. Patrick did an outstanding job of flying in rather windy conditions, which included crosswind conditions on our improvised landing strip.
